Quality Manager

Deublin Company is actively seeking an energetic Quality Manager. As our quality manager you will lead our quality department by providing direction to eleven (11) direct comprised of engineers, inspectors, technicians, and the organization to meet our core quality objectives. You will work with all departments within the organization, providing direction and communication ownership to process owners to drive quality improvements to eliminate causes of nonconformities. Ensuring decisions are made to exceed customer expectations with an understanding of risks and constraints on resources and time.


Waukegan, Illinois




  • Use data (including metrics, audit results, and customer feedback) to review the effectiveness of the Quality Management System, sharing results with top management and taking actions to improve the performance of the QMS
  • Work effectively with customers and suppliers to improve quality performance
  • Collaborate with other Deublin Quality Managers (4) and the Global Director of Quality to standardize quality procedures across all Deublin manufacturing facilities
  • Focus on continuous improvement and process simplification methodologies that are part of the Deublin Performance systems such as 8D/5WHY and 80/20
  • Own customer grievance investigation and reporting process
  • Establish Global Quality Systems and Procedures
  • Ensure the “One Deublin” philosophy across multiple manufacturing sites by working with other site Quality Managers to develop and standardize world-class quality procedures and practices.
  • Communicate effectively with quality professionals whose native language is not English through superior interpersonal skills such as active listening and negotiation to develop global processes while respecting local needs.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; advanced degree preferred
  • Technical training (Engineering or Technology)
  • 8 years’ experience working in quality in a manufacturing facility
  • 3 years’ experience in developing teams through coaching and mentoring others
  • 3 years’ experience communicating quality issues with customers and suppliers
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 Management System requirements
  • Internal auditor certification preferred

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of QMS requirements and experience creating and documenting effective and compliant processes
  • Expertise of ERP Systems to create and analyze quality information to develop weekly and monthly KPIs
  • Aptitude to build and present KPI information on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to lead change in a team environment and with products and processes
  • Inspires people to work together to achieve goals
  • Develop, build, and coach team members
  • Sound logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving, quantitative analysis, time management and organization skills
  • Possess strong presentation skills with technical material for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analytical thinking to make informed quality decisions when available information is ambiguous or contradictory
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capability to develop direct reports by instructing, motivating, and coaching them using appropriate training/instructional methods and procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications and programs necessary to perform job functions

Physical Demands

  • Frequently lifting 25 lbs.
  • Moving larger loads with material handling equipment
  • Standing, walking, and moving on the plant floor and office areas throughout the workday
