Thermocompressor Systems

The energy from high-pressure steam is used within the thermocompressor to compress blow-through steam to re-introduce it back into the dryer section. This process allows each dryer section to operate independently from the others, improving control and efficiency.

Low-pressure steam is supplied separately to the dryers through the make-up valve to maintain the required dryer pressure. This make-up system typically accounts for about 80% of the total demand.

Steam may also be vented directly to the atmosphere or condenser. Although this valve is normally closed, run or break, it must be opened during start-up to bring the dryers up to temperature.
